Irene Musick

Irene K. Musick (1913 - 1969) was born in Cleveland, Ohio, studied at the Cleveland Art Institute, Case Western Reserve University, and Cranbrook Academy (sculpture, Carl Milles; ceramics, Maija Grotell). She created her own glaze formulations and experimented with clay bodies. Inspired by colors, textures, and forms in nature and by the inherent qualities of the medium, her pottery--primarily utilitarian/functional--is characterized by gracefulness and beauty.  In addition to private collections, her ceramics are in museum permanent collections in New York, Ohio, Colorado, Missouri, and others.
