An Artist Family

Pat Musick works in enameling and calligraphy; her brother, Dan, was a musician and writer.  Their parents, Archie and Irene Musick, worked in painting and ceramics. 

Archie built the family's home/studio around a sandstone boulder in Colorado, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's concept of building to fit with the natural environment.  Built by hand between 1945 and 1954, it won a prize for originality in 1957.
